What is Bluetooth?
Bluetooth is a radio frequency based technology. It is how mobile phones, headsets, computers, personal digital assistants (PDA’s), and a broad selection of other devices can be easily interconnected using a short-range wireless connection. Using this technology, users can have all mobile and fixed computer devices be totally coordinated. It is a standard way for devices to connect with each other. In essence it is a way to replace cables or wires. (In the same way that "wi-fi" is a replacement for your PC network cable). Because most of the major cell phone manufacturers have implemented it in their products, it has achieved widespread acceptance and adoption. A device has to be Bluetooth enabled (i.e. contain a Bluetooth chip) to be able to use a Bluetooth connection. |
